NACAG holds consultations in Zimbabwe

In December 2018, the NACAG secretariat visited Zimbabwe. It held consultations with all relevant stakeholders to be engaged in the initiative and carried out a feasibility study of the Sable Chemicals nitric acid plant located in Kwekwe. The three day visit at the plant revealed the great potential for a cooperation between Zimbabwe’s only nitric acid plant operator and NACAG. If implemented successfully, approximately 450,000 tons of CO2eq could be abated every year.

Furthermore, a workshop was held in Harare, which brought together representatives of the Ministry of Lands, Agriculture, Water, Climate and Rural Resettlement, Sable Chemicals and the NACAG Secretariat. The initiative was met with great interest on all sides and it was agreed to initiate further steps to proceed with the endeavour.
